Have to wonder if there's any way anime could possibly make slapstick silly enough that nobody will take it overly seriously or make a fuss over it.
Though on that note, I actually think it would be pretty funny to see guys mercilessly beat up on females for a change, if only for the shock factor. I don't mind female-on-male abuse or find it offensive, it's just boring and so incredibly old that cavemen watching anime back in the Stone Age probably considered it overdone.
