You know, I had a funny feeling that Kumagawa loving Ajimu was a possibility. But didn't give it any more thought because of the ripping of her face thing.

I see now, unless he's BS'ing again ofcourse. Kumagawa is one crazy bastard, more so than I originally thought.

So I guess her being Zen ex GF is officially crossed out now. So Kumagawa is possibly still in love with her? I can see this possibly being something that helps in his eventual demise later on.

I wouldn't exactly say the possibility of her being Zen's ex was crossed out, it's about the same as it always was. All we know is that Kumagawa loved her and ripped her face off, that says nothing about her relationship with Zenkichi, or even whether she knew about or reciprocated Kumagawa's feelings. For all we know what Kumagawa said was a lie and that he killed her because she and Zenkichi were getting a bit too close or for some other reason.

He's a pathological liar who we'll inevitably discover about his past and motives, and be expected to sympathize at least on some level. Unless the author plans for us to not sympathize with him at all which seems highly unlikely Kumagawa can't be too straight forwardly crazy/evil there must be something more to it. Hence my skepticism towards his "story" or at least his reasons for ripping her face off.
