one can argue that in the beginning rin already had a thing for asa in the first place...that is a point which is valid and needs recognition...if it is true she screwed up big time!

Actually Rin did have something for Asa in the beginning but no idea how serious it was. However Kaede never had chance, it was either ep4 or 5 when the episode started with Rin having his nightmare about loli Kaede. The scar formt he box cutter runs too deep.
