[Saint X]

A short Snippet from the Past.

Spoiler for Adarna Arrival : C'rnadyne Facility:

After months of intelligence gathering, speculation and attempted pilfering, Dr L’lin P’jilner now has her eyes on the objective item.

"So this is the so-called 'Infinite Stratos' Unit..." The feline doctor hummed as she walked around the machine, sucking on her trusty sucker. "This looks more like our [Force Striker] Units than some 'super special weapon that can only be used for sport'."

"Yes Doctor." One of the assistants agreed. "That is the norm here, but then upon checking the historical record, the IS was supposed to be initially used for Space Exploration, by a certain Tabane Shinonono."

"If it was initially made for Space, then we have landed ourselves into quite a situation. We stop with the dilly-dally and let's begin checking this thing. Log us into CLANNAD (Combat Layer Advancing Neural Network Assistance Device) and activate the scanner arms."

"Yes Doctor, Logging in."

Multiple holoscreens opened around the Doctor, the assistants and the IS unit, as a couple of robotic arms emerged from the floor and then started to move around the IS, painthing it with thin laser beams. As the arms did their work, walls of text flowed into the every holoscreen except those that had someone minding- namely the Doctor and some of the assistants.

"Who is the holder of this IS unit again?" The Doctor asked as she noted that some of the parts of the IS are made of Neosteel and Neoceramics.

"A country called the Philippines. Archipelago, with notable industrial, agricultural and humanitarian might. The unit is called the [Adarna], apparently it was named after a mystical bird in some of their lore." The assistant replied. "Also, I'm seeing some X-joints in certain armor points."

"X-joints? you don't say... that can only mean one thing. Can you confirm the description from the order file?"

"Yes, this IS unit can do some variable transformation, just like our [Force Strikers]"

"And... this is what we are supposed to upgrade?" The Doctor questioned as she noted that the age of most of the IS' components are "too old". "We have landed in quite a situation here."

"I Agree. So, what are our plans now? We have the item, and we can just vanish with it and analyze it in detail once we get back to base."

The suggestion was right and the opportunity was there. It was a rare and golden chance that the item they sought would actually waltz into their hands, by virtue of, which was at the time idiotic suggestion by a relative newcomer. But then, The Doctor was a person of research, and though the item (IS) itself was of value to her (research-wise), the world that it came from was an even more attractive subject- something worthy of her attention. And with that moment of thought, not only did she came up with a reply...

"No. We will upgrade this unit as a sort of test run before we proceed with our own ventures into this IS business."

... But also an altogether new plan.

"Venture? you mean..."

"I am thinking of breaking one of the Core Tenets and see where it would go. Admiral Astaris has given us a no time limit on this operation- since we still have that MvsS thing going on in one sector and she herself is in an another operation to acquire another item."

"But that's absurd and a clear waste of resources." The assistant objected. "But what would be the rewards for this madness you're plotting?"

"Hmmm..." The Doctor paused for a moment as she took out the now exhausted sucker's stick out of her mouth, pocket said stick, pull out a fresh lollipop, unwrap the thing, and started to suck on it once again. "Maybe we might see something interesting- like "those with potential". Those kinds of people are always a pleasure to have."

"Well it's your call Doctor." The Assistant resigned. "So, what do we do now?"

"Hmmm... I know." The Doctor again hummed, taking out the sucker and pointing it at the IS unit. "Strip it down to the very skeleton of it's frame and carefully take the core out. We'll turn her into something that even the visionary madwoman behind the IS will and will not recognize. And call Kirika, I have a job for her."
