While reading the initial part of EP5, this idea occurs to me:

There are many scenes where Natsuhi and Beatrice were shown, which are *intended* to be interpreted as former hallucinating the latter. How can we be sure of that interpretation? Well, It is either by context or red texts. I do not dispute that. The problem is then that we must consider all scenes shown to us, the players, are always given from some observer's perspective, and we are not always sure of who is the observer. For instance, without the context, we might consider the aforementioned scenes as Beatrice hallucinating Natsuhi instead of the other way round. The prevailing magic scenes can also be explained as given from perspectives of nuts people such as Maria and Kanon. The scene in EP2 church where all Ushiromiya adults acknowledged the existence of Beatrice might be Beatrice (or person X) hallucinating all the others. But the biggest ramification is this: it is a common consensus that in the show what the Battler observers are always real. The problem is in scenes where Battler is shown, we cannot tell whether he is the observer or not. For example in EP3 end, it was shown that Eva killed Battler. But that scene might be shown from Eva's perspective and she merely imagined killing Battler (due to her mental state).
