I don't mean they're badly drawn or anything like that, infact they are very well drawn, they just look sorta odd to me, mostly the expressions. Anyway I've just saw a few pics of them so maybe my opinion would change if I saw them in action.

They are really faithful to original Ryukishi sprites. They copied his drawn expressions really well.
