They were using a rough rounding estimate. The dates I have up there are from both series, so they are facts. Fate was taken into custody in the middle of May. She showed up to help Nanoha Dec. 2nd. So, more like 6 and a half months. When they said 6 months, they were simply rounding. I wouldn't be surprised if it took Fate's trial a couple of weeks to start. They did say trials like hers could take months to years to complete.
