Spoiler:
Seeing the future is more for dramatic effect I feel like. His power of anyone I can remember is like a mix between Agon and Akaba from Eyeshield 21. Or you could use Hajime no Ippo's Itagaki who's probably a better match. He just has super reaction time, matched with extraordinary dynamic visual acuity. Thinking about it Itagaki is definitely the best comparison. (I used Akaba tho because like what he did with Kagami, he probably just pushed down as his center of gravity shifted)
Akashi's ability to see the future is more like he's practiced staring at people's muscles and how they work for long periods of time, to the point where he can tell which direction someone's going to move by looking at their position. It's hard to forcibly change direction, and requires a great deal of agility, which is why I think Aomine is probably best suited to go against him, because even if Akashi can "see the future", Aomine should be able to change what he does, fast enough where Akashi can't steal the ball like he does against Midorima, who is probably the easiest for Akashi to go against.
Fortunately tho, unlike seeing the future, he should only be able to react to what he sees, so I think we can see why Kuroko could possibly be a threat. Similar to how Agon got defeated by being hit from his blindspot, Akashi isn't omniscient, or at least not yet.. But his super reaction times isn't something unheard of. I still think that Aomnie's agility is definitely a stronger weapon (but unfortunately the author never seemed to make use of it, because Kagami was able to keep up with Aomnie, which unless they had the same top speed..), because there are limits to what you can do with good eyesight alone. Tho this is speaking from a realistic standpoint, obviously Akashi is given a bit of super speed as well.
