Why are you using Hideyoshi as an example? Despite his determined trapness, Hideyoshi IS male, in no uncertain terms. His gender is not in question from our side of the fourth wall, however much a source of confusion it is for people encountering him.

Nyarlathotep's most common appearance in the mythos is as an Egyptian pharaoh, but it still got turned into a girl here. The one whose name should not be spoken's gender is no better defined than Nyarlathotep's, so there is no reason why this series' creator can't make that character female any more than there was preventing him from making Nyaruko female.
