I'm so simple
, I dreamed only of making games since I was a kid.
The game industry (around here anyways) pays well for programmers - 60k+ at one year professional experience. That's more than enough for me as my living is uber cheap.
The work is enjoyable, and it can entirely consume you (weekends and nights). I had to put personal projects on hold. That's a really bad thing, cause my ambition lies in those projects - I don't want to work for the man forever. There's tons of potential for career growth though, and lots of great connections too.
With all the extra cash in hand I actually quit my job to work on my own stuff. If things don't work out there's no shortage of jobs here. Life is good
