I'd go for splitting it, but then again, I've only done oneshots.
There's no way you can piss off the readers. Unless you delay the mud wrestling scene for longer than the "second season", or unless you can whip up something more annoying and repetitive than Endless Eight minus the awesome ending, everyone for the most part will be happy. There's always going to be someone bitching about something, though with this story it'd be hard to find something to complain about.
If you're sure that the first part of the currently massive, unsplit chapter is done and won't need to be polished or edited too much, then I'd say go for it. That might just be me being greedy and wanting to read more without having to wait, though.
