Thanks for the post OP, I was previously using AVPlayerHD, while it also played 10bit 720p MKV anime flawlessly, it didn't support SSA.

Well now with HD Player Pro, it does! my iPhone5 is not the best anime player on the market,

AVPlayerHD does have AC3 audio support though, guess i can keep it around.
