This chapter gets a thumbs up from me for including nostalgic value. I haven't heard of some of these tales since I was in school as a kid
Spoiler for A nightingale by any other name ...:
This chapter was the usual for how this manga begin its arc's. It was fairly obvious that Kaoru would end up as the male lead
(though I've got to say, she bears an uncanny resemblance to Oscar of
The Rose of Versailles in that get up) and Yuri being the female lead is also a given, considering that Kyosuke discovered who she really is and it's about time to resolve her conflict before it gets too complicated. I'm willing to bet that, despite the sinister cliffhanger, Kyosuke is going to go to the play to do one of his hairbrained schemes that'll corner Phantom Daughter into fighting him while doing as much chaos as possible (me think it's going to be a rehash of Minamoto's marriage interview
).
Usual start, not really impressive but lays out the road for the main show.
Hope to break a leg, this arc!
PS it's really interesting that Hyobu seems to be more cautious than usual by scanning the kids memories himself instead of letting them tell him what happened. I don't know but it added to the feeling that he was really serious about what he's about to do ...
@Nosauz hmm I don't think that, other than her relevancy to the play, Feather will have that much of a role here. Going by the title it looks it'll be more Yuri/Phantom Daughter centric
