It shouldn't be trying to climb that hill at all! It has a range advantage of a couple kilometers over all the Oarai tanks including Tiger P. They should be trying to get on another hilltop to get a better angle on the defenders. Driving up the hill like that is helping the defenders by making the strike angle more oblique and the dirt berms are going to help deflect more of the shot high and over the tops of the defenders.
Maho brought all her L70/71 gun tanks and Tiger varients which suggests she intended to stay far away from Miho and not let her tanks get savaged in combat at point blank range, even if Jagdtiger is almost invulnerable to their guns, trying to get closer to them like that would normally be a mistake. What are they up to?

Or maybe it's Erika with her pride that Oarai is no match for Black Forest? So she forced the crew if the Jagdtiger to try and climb the hill, eventhough it's not the best strategy to do in that situation. Of course, I'm just speculating at this point.
