what I remember was Father from chapter 34 went crazy when there were a hole in the wall and asked it to be covered before sunlight hits the titan |
I'm not sure that's the case. Ymir and the Ape titan for example could move at night.
I think Reiner and Bertholdt are just waiting so when they are moving around in their titan form they won't be attack by the regular titans. If they couldn't transform and move at nighttime as a titan, Yimr could easily defeat them, because she can.
