For some reason while I can understand the epicness of this episode, I couldn't really feel it. The most memorable episode for me is still ep16.
Perhaps the reason is that everything was back to how they were originally and after the grueling events over the span of the last 10 episode I was burnt out myself. Or that the idea of WWIII didn't really strike me as an interesting turn of events. And that the outcome of the first rescue attempt didn't feel surprising even though I wasn't really expecting that to happen.
I probably had epicness burnout from watching the entire anime in quick succession. Wish I could've share the same reaction of shock as so many fans here did, but regrettably the highest I would rate this episode is a 9. Okarin himself is worth that much in this episode.
