seems like either is correct. just a matter of preference. the first character of her name '杏' is read in japanese On reading as kyou. but a quick check at wikipedia, her name is transliterated as Sakura Kyōko, with the bar or macron above o, which signifies it's pronounced as long vowel. but since we type in keyboards (at least in international english) with o only, the bar is usually drop.
but for those who want to emphasize the long vowel, they replaced the o with macron with 'ou' instead. so basically it is the same.
