Alright, first all hail a good run. The second season was truly no lesser than the first, and Marimite once again proves that shoujo stories don't have to include a mountain of fanservice to attract an audience.
Now on with the thoughts...
Spoiler:
Firstly, I do think this last episode was one of the better ones, almost on par with my favorite episode being six (Shimako and Sei). The new potrait of Yumi seemed logical enough considering what she just went through. I have to admit that it was awfully nice to see Yumi for once operating without constantly being on the edge of what Sachiko thinks of her, this arc was if anything, important as an character development chapter for the both of them.
Still, I hope we will get the old Yumi back now and then, she was after all the most humourous factor of this show ^^
I'm not sure how refined the emotional atmospheres was in the novel, it may have been more since they tell a awful lot in only 23 minutes. But really, I loved it, there was extremely little to complain about and especially their reunion was well-potraited to the extreme.
One thing however, Sachiko's confession scene. I had to laught out loud. It is kinda funny that while this show has been anyting but stereotypical this far, the animators just had to blew the last part through an rose explosion (well, kinda, but it was corny). Anything but that would have been fine, but just..sorry XD.
Favorite? How Sachiko confessed, nothing extremely refined or romantic, it was like if she just blubbered it out. And giving those circumstances, it was perfect.
Kinda sad thou, that just when Yumi's and Sachiko's relation developed, second season had to end -_-. Would ave been fun to see what they make out of it.
