It's more of a "what if" situation for every universe prior to it. It's a huge spoiler for the series but basically:

Spoiler for giant Turn-A spoilers:

The premise of Turn-A is that after a REALLY horrible war, humanity reverted to a 1920's level of technology. Basically, post-apocalyptic. Meanwhile, the remnants of the colonies live on the Moon and want to return to the Earth. A war starts over this.

There's a place on the moon called the Hall of Humankind's Black History or ...something to that effect (it's been a while XD) where they're able to view the history of humanity's wars, and in that scene, they play clips from every other Gundam series to show the history of war throughout Gundam.

So basically, the world of Turn-A is a 'possible result' of the endless wars in every universe. But it isn't necessarily THE end. Also it only applies to series that came before it, so anything from SEED afterward does NOT apply to Turn-A.
