I guess IS is not that bad, but it's just that there many much better stories. Personally, I only read the translations of the first few volumes, so I'm not here to judge. It has great potential, but from the spoilers Kuroishinigami gave, I don't feel it's worth my time to get disappointed (unless it improves and ends with a bang somehow

). I was reading HnA recently (just done with v4), but again, from the spoilers from Hikari (aka Icy Tear) on how bad it went later, I don't think I will continue anymore. I rather read a well-written rabukon, well set up with a consistent style, so as to speak. My personal comparison is relative to the LNs I've read, though it can be very subjective and opinionated at times.

The ones you're catching up are not merely popular, they are great reads (I will overall rate them 8 or higher on a scale to 10), IMO.
