Hello!/ Ohai Gozai Mas!/ Bonjour! etc!

....(I only speak English sadly)

-_-

I found this forum as I asked an apparently obscure question to Google... and got no answer from the internets!

'Why in anime, most of the time does there seem to be some kind of 'harem' trope, and yet most times, the male, despite being attracted to at least one of the women, never actually acts on anything or engages in a relationship? Why?'

...Um.. I asked google in fewer words! Haha

I suppose it's a cultural thing?

I only started watching anime again, after a 5ish year break, when Attack on Titan came out.
AOT didn't really follow this (new?) trope, Erin and his 'sister' were a family (so the film has that immediate immersion break/ clash with fans because....huh.. whose kissing?!)

Knights of Sidonia... the character falls in love and maintains that crush. Good, makes sense, he chose.

Tokyo Ghoul, Akame ga Kill... y'know... it's a trope. It's getting annoying seeing this trend so much... it's like 'Arrow's infected my anime!

Thank you for saying hey and any thoughts on this or suggestions of good action anime, where the relationships make sense!

Arigato!
