Very true. The problem is they're often treated as newscasters by the viewers who take what they're saying without question. After all, it says (Fox News/MSNBC) on the bottom of the screen* there, so they wouldn't be allowed to say it if it wasn't true. Though even on the real news shows that claim to offer analysis, it's usually random people shouting the same talking points at each other over and over rather than actually doing analysis.
Sooner or later someone's going to get the idea of having those people fight in roman style gladiatorial combat to determine which side is correct on an issue. While that would be far more entertaining, it's not a good way to discuss policy.
*Actually I think MSNBC has their station logo on the top of the screen, but the point is it's there.
