Wrt UBW, what Archer did concerning Rin's feelings was to help her better understand her relationship with Shirou, but one needs to understand that even in timelines where Archer EMIYA never showed up Rin and Shirou still got together anyways, and what Archer's presence does is to expedite that process. Rin and Shirou are a Yin and Yang quality, much like his favorite swords
