Me too, more because of the Mei scene in Manabi Straight than Monkey Magic, though; it wouldn't be OOC of Mei to be able to pronounce the English well enough that, well, at least *we* could understand her. It was also in a setting where Mei would be trying to do very well, which is why I believe that scene is pretty much the extent of how well Hirano can pronounce English.
And anyways, Monkey Magic's funny point is that Kona is stumbling over the English. Quite badly.
