Well, it was a decently interesting episode. But for the most part, it was dull and full of just talking (work on the tempo more, please...)...
The final part where Index is attacked and she uses some Spell Interceptor (EH?! When did she get that ability?!) that came from somewhere and started to fight the golem. This one scene (and cool BGM) was probably 100 times more interesting than the rest of the parts (other than Mikoto's reaction to the air), which to be honest, didn't move the story much. The mage runs away, and we spend a lot of time on Hyouka, who isn't all that interesting anyways.
Reasons why her parts were boring?
1. We get Touma's lecture. Iyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
I thought he would never do it again.
...
2. We get a run-through of the you are human, you are monster thing I've seen more than enough times to get it...
3. We get Hyouka's flashback? Either way, poorly explained and left me in question marks for a while. I guess that was the ghostly imaginative world of whatever she is made of... or something.
Quick tsukkomi/thoughts:
-Indec FINALLY did SOMETHING?! OH-MY-GOD... This has got to be some dream...
Though I have no idea where she got that power.
Her bare leg! Fuhihihihihihihi...
-That mage writes way too fast... Surreal... Well, the problem didn't start this episode.
Try attacking her while she writes, oi...
-The camera work during the fight made me laugh for some reason
-Kind of
over how Touma didn't just touch the golem and tries to avoid it. In the first place, it was odd he dispelled the magic of the golem, but the physical moving arm was stopped too. So let's say he can stop moving objects from magic too. Then he could have just touched the golem when it punched at him. But he doesn't.
And, uho~, he punched a female. Guess you can punch girls in his mental book of lectures, huh?
Not that it matters to me. The new mage is boring anyways. Punch her until she dies if ya' want...
More than that, why didn't she dodge... Just let yourself get uppercutted...
-The last part with the cut before she gets punched. No tension... It's clear she's going to be saved, and I'll laugh if Touma stops the golem's hand again.

Preview: It ends. Wa~i. JC Staff's first seasons are always the best it gets, so if it gets a 2nd season, it'll be fun seeing what happens...
More than that, it really is easier to just watch the anime version than bother to read the novel full of annoying explanation text and other useless text, isn't it.
