Think about it: he spends the entire series so far chasing the girl, okay. He hurts and kills people to get her, and doesn't seem to care who he has to go through to make her his (NB he doesn't seem to care about her opinion either). And he can't shut up about how she belongs to him and only him. Then he bloody crashes the car she's riding in just so he can get her?? What if she got hurt? He could've killed her (never mind poor Sazanka and Malloy). Anyway, finally he has the girl captive (because she wouldn't go with him otherwise), and he starts going on about I am X reborn, you are Y reborn, this is our legend, we belong together. Add to this that the girl may be intrigued but she's also afraid and just wants to get away from him... Sorry but at this point the whole thing gives off "creepy possessive stalker" vibes to me. Like, "I am Apollon, you are Sylphie, I am your destiny, you should want me the way I want you! I'll make you mine and I'll destroy anyone who stands in my way." Brrrr.

As I said if they just stuck to Kagura being all dere and more soft and work from that it would've been okay. But these definitive statements and his overall behavior, plus the whole situation of him holding her captive... uuughh. No no no.

I never know how to translate that into English.) Btw it means something similar in the proverb you quote: "a wise man doesn't let himself be led astray (from the right path)."

It was implied he knew Kagura was coming after Mykage opened the portal for him, and now in this episode we have Fudo smirking while Amata gets his ass handed to him before Kagura is wounded and taken back by Mykage. But if he has some grand plan/power of foresight, how come he didn't see Jin's death coming? I feel like the moment Jin was first wounded by Mykage Fudo ought to have realized the possibility that Mykage might finish the job later, given that he and Mykage clearly know each other and are probably quite familiar with how each other operate. I don't know if there's anything Fudo could've done to prevent Mykage from killing Jin but the fact that he was surprised by Jin's death doesn't make sense to me. Maybe there's some sort of limit to Fudo's foresight, but when one of your pilot gets injured by a weird angle dude from another dimension you'd probably do something it, wouldn't you? I don't get it.

Fudou knew something was up, that's why he said they needed Jin's power (and they really did end up needing it). But it seems like Fudou doesn't have actual prescience (the show would be pretty boring if he did), he just knows what to expect and recognizes certain patterns. It's like, he senses when something is up, knows what he should do about it, he does what he can (keeps Jin around, makes the elements undergo special training, etc), but he can't or won't influence how things actually play out so he's mostly just an observer and occasional advisor. Either because there's the limit of his powers (or that he lacks certain powers), or because that's what he'd decided. Note that Mykage doesn't directly interfere either after a certain point: sure he'll boost Kagura's energy via dimension gate, and whisk him away from certain doom, but other than that he just observes how Kagura is doing. (He pretty much killed Jin out of spite, something Fudou didn't expect.)
