Haha I'm sure he meant no offense, that question has been asked repeatedly. (yeah usually by people who're new to light novels, not even to this specific series)
When fans of light novel refer to web novel, it tends to mean the ORIGINAL before it gets serialized, another example is Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei.
