More sensible and interesting? I think she allways was sensible
and i think she was by far the most interesting character in the first season. I think she was allways serious, its not something she learned from Nanoha and co. Proved that she is a good character... i dont think she was ever portrayed as a 'bad' character. Tragic, sad and mysterious, but definitely not bad.
