While I'm sure these will be answered (probably) in future episodes, it'd be awful hard to make a good impression with a lackluster first episode such as this.

Its a little of that but mostly that l the characterization we got for the cast in the first ep was them being more or less moronic about things and lame ecchi style gags that added neither intrigue nor comedic value to their interactions. Its a terrible first impression to make even if they get less annoying later on.
