Well all Ryuuji wants is just some peace from Ami and not getting teased by her all the time, especially after he knows her
actual personality. If I were Ryuuji to witness Ami's actual personality I'd be scared like hell if I were to get some involvement with her, and choose to be really, really careful and try to dismiss any sudden advances, as it might be a trick she's trying to pick on me. Maybe that's his mindset.
