Not that it's the end of the world that they take them out, it just make the party seems a little bit short. But they have to get the point across...

Also it seems that they didn't have much time to work on the OP, compared to the previous episodes. They re-used a portion of that "fighting" scene from the last episode. The outcome doesn't look bad, though
Looking forward to more Kirino dere
