Actually, I doubt Kadokawa even knows when they want to release the DVD set. They'll probably take advantage of the market to milk it for all it's worth, so... yeah.
Holy moley I just realized 'Kyon' rhymes with 'John'
I think 'Kyon' doesn't mean anything at all, just that it's a sillier version of his actual name (An extreme case of getting 'Bob' from 'Robert'). When people make up words to give you a nickname, you know it's embarrassing.
I know there are a lot of YukixKyon shippers out there, but here's a thought; what if Yuki doesn't have a thing for Kyon at all? What if she merely saw Kyon as an ally and friend, who probably is the kindest and best thing that ever happened to her? I'm starting to get the vibe that her affection for Kyon in alt!Universe is due to her wanting a taste for love, and it naturally latched onto Kyon, the closest person to her. Also, having a girl's undivided love could prove to be an incentive for Kyon to stay (which he didn't, that jerk). Yuki's not dumb; she wants to give Kyon a choice, yes, but like all hackers, they always leave a backdoor for themselves.
Her 'love' and demure image was that backdoor (she could have easily re-made herself as a genki girl like Tsuruya). The promise of a less-stressed world was that backdoor. Most importantly, Asakura was that backdoor.
