Uhm,there is no indication that the GC's world has the same timeline as ours,so your point is moot. Okay then,explain to me how Japan being eradicated would change anything in the Middle East. It's not like Japan is competing with China in arms dealing,since it can barely sustain itself.
And again,how do we know that US is among the UN's leading nations at the time? We're given too little about what happens outside Loop 7 and GHQ,so you aren't helping.
However,I too,believe that it is a waste of resources and is illogical to eradicate a country as a whole,and I still don't know why UN would want that. Perhaps Japan was being too big of a burden?
