and i would hardly considering as disappointing, since the tones between season 1 arcs and season 2 arcs are extremely different, if not, completely opposite to say the least.

Hmmm... I still don't like the song at all though, it just sounds so typical of anime songs these days. They are all starting to sound the same to me and Higurashi's first theme was therefore a standout for me last year. I've pretty much given up on Japanese music as a whole lately though as it's pretty much indistinguishable from the boy and girl band image and style over substance era of the 90's that we had in North America, so.... I don't know.
