This just opens up a new question: To read the stone tablet, you're supposed to need at least a Sharingan, to read it completely, you need the Rinnegan.
Now how was Black Zetsu able to manipulate the text in the first place, when he doesn't posses these eyes?
You have to be able to read the text first, to change it.

Well, the "actual children" were probably "creations" as well. So far no father was mentioned at all, so Kaguya probably created her sons out of nothing with some godlike power in the first place.
