From experience, those characters who have a noticeable advantage at the start (usually forced engagements) usually lose out to the girl who is closer the main character. I don't think it is anything new either to say otherwise right now making Sylvia the underdog...even more so if she is the type who will likely follow the rules of a proper ojou-sama.
