I don't get this:

so I used notepad and created this file "video.avs" it is still a text document.
inside this "video.avs" document i wrote :

DirectShowSource("C:\Anime\Manabi Straight\[Ryo]_Manabi_Straight_-_01_[81A47169]")

when I drag the video.avs into virtural dub it gives "cannot detect file type of "xxx""
xxx=location of "video.avs"
