Maybe the Hogyoku allowed them to gain powers from the reatsu that Ichigo was leaking all over the place.
Also, I wonder if Ichigo is actually saying that he will lose his powers, or that he will just no longer have the power of a shinigami, but will instead have the power of whatever the hell he is now.
