Fully agreed with your opinion, Ami is far from giving up on Ryuuji.
With only a few episodes left, I think we might get to see Ami make another attempt to make Ryuuji fall for her very soon.
I just hope things work out fine for Ami, I also grew to like her character throughout the series.
