well we haven't seen the fullest potential of his shikai....there still may be something he's hiding for later....who knows?
Gin is an awesome character to me (loves his accent!) because he's good enough of a antagonist to make me hate him at some points and those of you who say he is a useless character, don't forget Gin is the reason Aizen got away with half the stuff that he did during SS arc
