In that French convention the two authors pretty much confirmed Ikemoto is the actual author of Boruto with Kishimoto just giving him advices. Apparently, Code was meant to die but Ikemoto had a change of plans. Among other stuff, Ikemoto said that Boruto's new characterization is his attempt to honor his master Sasuke. Meanwhile, when it comes to Sarada's new design, the big jacket was intentionally to look that big to remind her of Boruto since she is one of the few people who remembers the true.

Another news is that Kishimoto now wants to draw his own manga but it's a tease for now.

More stuff:
*Ikemoto doesn't try to give his villains humanity like the ones from Naruto, often aiming to write pure villains
*Boruto's character was heavily influenced by Neo from the Matrix considering he is literally a messiah figure training to control the potential he has.
*Boruto is also some sort of hybrid between Naruto and Sasuke when writing him.
*Boruto becoming "the traitor to the Leaf" is something Ikemoto came up with early in the story as he found such portrayal of a hero interesting.
