This appears to merit further observation.
If I recall correctly, this is the same incident which originated the word kamikaze (a massive storm devastated the Mongol fleet). Historical trivia aside, I find myself wondering, "how come nobody considered that as a setting/backdrop before now?"

The place was overrun in 2 hours. I guess nobody thought anything interesting could happen there. I myself didn't know there were two invasions, this is the first one where the Mongols did manage to land with a sizeable force. Both times they were fucked over by a Typhoon though.
