Kinda surprised and not surprised. But hey - s1 was quite good story writing, so more oif that level of things is always welcome as far as I am concerned. ^^

Episode 1:
Oh nice, they didn't do much recapping and got exactly from where the first season's finale left off with the tower collapse. Sato is so badass still. Action and violence is pretty fluid as I had expected. Kei hasn't changed much and is still on the run. Decent start so far, Sato still up to his clever tricks. I don't like the new OP song much, at least compared to the previous one. Season 1's OP song set a pretty high standard but the new one isn't even half as good imo. Might skip it starting from the next episode.

Episode 1
They gave a really brief recap and then got straight to business. Kei is off to stop Sato with Nakano. Sato has a list of important people and will kill them one by one until their demands are met by the government which is pretty simple: Sato wants ajins to be treated like humans. But that's not going to happen because the government was conducting all those experiments for profit and revealing all that is the first demand. Society has already come to treat the ajin as monsters so even if the required legislation is done it'll take time for things to go back to normal. The government's issue here is mainly the part about revealing the experiments and the profit gained from it. I like this Kei dude. He's pretty unfeeling and inhuman right now. He plans on using Tosaki's hospitalized lover as hostage to get his demands met by Tosaki. What he wants is protection and in return he will help take out Sato. It works for both of them because if Sato isn't stopped, Tosaki will lose everything and getting two more ajins on his side for this mission will only make things easier for him. Kei wants to get back at Sato for ruining his life and he can't do it with stupid Nakano only and needs more allies which is why he is pushing for this deal. And the deal is confirmed and Kei will start working with Tosaki from next week onwards. The OP was obviously a disappointment compared to the previous season's. The previous season's OP was the best OP of its season and this OP isn't even close to that quality. Slow movements with the cgi are jarring as ever and fast action looks cool. Things are getting interesting now with Kei teaming up with his enemy to defeat Sato. |

It's back! Really missed this show.
Was not expecting Nagai to join forces with the police although his reasoning to do so is valid. Like he said, what can 2 teenagers alone do even tho they are immortal? Really liked this decision. I'm happy we will get to see a proper ending to the Sato arc with this second season. The guy is an awesome villain, it would be a shame not to see more of his actions. |
