Not often do you see someone's hands blushing .
Honestly this last trailer has done a great job for giving the idea of what this show will all be about. Should be a really cute show. An absolute combat badass that starts out pretty awkward when it comes to more mundane things. Though clearly she'll get the handle on cleaning in no time!

The first episode was pretty bad. The premise didn't sound great but I thought there were ways to make it work but... not like this. I may watch another episode or two to see if the writing improves.

So this is Yor if she became a maid instead of a housewife. Or Mahoro if she was a human and not a robot. Given the heroine's past, I'm curious to see if this will stay slice of life or Yokoya is going to be involved with killers in his future.

I really can't empathize with protagonists who have dozens of bags of trash standing in their bloody sleeping room. Eeuuggh. Gross!
Honestly, this feels exploitative. An undeserving slob gets a super cute maid who also needs validation and just being treated well and with minimal effort he suddenly has basically a free servant and potential romantic partner. Nope. Dropped.

Good start with the first episode.
Absolutely crazy the kind of skillset this girl has going for her. But clearly she is good at what she does! Nice job preventing Truck-kun from claiming another victim. This guy has enough craziness in his life, no need to send him on an isekai adventure. Being absolutely hopeless in terms of cleaning is plenty cute. Though I think the best moment for the maid was the rush she got when actually saving a life for the first time. Quote:

What if The Maid I Hired Recently is Mysterious didn't have a mysterious Rieri Beauty of a Maid and the chaddest of chad boys but instead her gal pal Reina Ueda as an assassin maid in high-heeled boots and a hapless teen protagonist who ends up employing her ?
The OP is very stylish and unique! With Ms. Servant standing out amidst everything around her and trying to find her place in the world...and dancing alongside Hitoyoshi as she finds her place with him . Hitoyoshi has a mess of a house and then in comes Ms. Servant to serve his needs and clean up! Even if she's known for a "clean up" of a different persuasion as an assassin. Honestly I would hire her on the spot, but I can imagine being really weirded out by her . Nothing sells a girls' credentials as a caretaker like saving you from Truck-kun . Okay, on paper an assassin for a maid sounds fun until you realize she has basically no actual housework skills that do not involve a knife. But bless her for trying . A life of death and killing could not have prepared Ms. Servant for the power of Tonkotsu sauce ! So if I'm understanding right, Hitoyoshi's parents divorced and his mom left with his sibling, leaving him pretty much alone in the house? So Ms. Servant is the first real companionship, or even affection, he's experienced . Dude straight up thinking she was the type to walk out in a towel after a bath. This ain't that kind of romcom . Ms. Servant has lived a life of bloodshed and violence, killing for her handlers and never having an identity beyond one of an assassin...but Hitoyoshi lets her feel that she can be more than that and experience what it means to lead a warm, loving, life. Complete with giving out effective lap pillows ! The ED is just as stylized and unique as the OP, with Ms. Servant traveling her path, both of the domestic and assassin variety . Quote:

For an assassin, the only warmth they may know is that feeling of battling for your life against others or taking lives...but for Ms. Servant, she's discovering a more wholesome and sweet kind of warmth in her time with Hitoyoshi. And she wants more of it .
Assassin skills are surprisingly versatile in cleaning up garbage! So she's not completely incapable of housework ! Wow, is Hitoyoshi's house just becoming a convenient dumping ground for people or things people don't want? Who could refuse such an adorable and sweet doggie!? But hey, Hitoyoshi already knows what it's like to feel abandoned, and if he can do anything to make up for that in a girl or dogs' life, he will . Dang Ms. Servant, it's just a sweet and cute abandoned dog, that doesn't mean you need to get all nihilistic and cold about how it's a dog-eat-dog world of needing to learn how to survive on your own. Just appreciate the new dog in your life . Though I guess it's probably born from her own traumatizing background with dogs where she was trained fending off attack dogs so she's uncomfortable around them...even though this dogs' cuteness is so overpowering ! Ms. Servant makes quite the striking figure out with Hitoyoshi as they take their new dog housemate to the vet and get pet supplies ! Ms. Servant has fought and fought for a place to call her own, needing to find value in being an assassin no matter how many lives she needed to take (though honestly her assassin outfits are pretty nice), but with Hitoyoshi she doesn't need to justify her reason for being with him or to be herself...he accepts her and he sees that, deep down, she wants to be an normal girl and not an assassin. And the first step is acknowledging you're human, you can make mistakes, and you have every right to live and be happy . It seems like Ms. Servant actually had a normal childhood with a father before she was turned into an assassin? What happened to her ? I thought the dog was going to be named "Mochi" but Agemeochitaro is definitely more unique. I love how Ms. Servant appreciates that it's "intimidating" . Ms. Servant is learning to cook! Even if she's still struggling with not seeing a sleeper assassin in their dog! But at least she finally works through her fears and gets along with Agememochitaro. No one can fully resist such a cute pooch . No better treat for Ms. Servant than some Okonomiyaki! I love how she always appreciates the sauce . Once she was Xue, a cold-blooded assassin, but now she's Yuki, who can be just as warm as winter snow and the master who named her ! Hitoyoshi has a cute littler sister named Riko!? Oh yeah, I guess in his flashback it looked like his mom was taking a little girl away...can't wait to see how she reacts to Yuki .

The self-insert main character is killing this show for me. His design is atrocious and his main personality trait is that he's nice. He tells Yuki completely normal things and she reacts as if she was blessed with wisdom from a higher being. Only reason I'm still watching is that she really is cute. I'm hoping the addition of a new character next week will shake things up.
