A very good bridge episode; the days of friendship are over with the spy's cover blown and the war realities crashing down.
The Adele's combat debut was horrible but atleast there's an on screen proof that Vegan units has a dual mode (piloted or UCV).

I like how they are going with the Asemu and Zeheart's relationship, instead of finding out Zeheart's true identity later on, we have Asemu finding out about it this early and might have resolved him to take part in the war. Can't wait to see how this goes.
Earth Federation still fails badly. Useless MS aside, it took them 1 year and half to figure out something was wrong and there was a spy, and they have to crash the graduation ceremony to arrest Zeheart instead of doing it covertly? Epic fail

I'm waiting for wingofdarkness reaction regarding Adele's debut.
The things I enjoyed the episode: 1. Questioning the credibility of Asemu wanting to be a soldier. Is he doing it really to help, protect his loved ones, to impress his father or all? 2. Revelation of Zeheart's identity. I don't even have to wait too long as I've thought from the start. With that, Romary now has for justifiable reason to join the diva crew. I really thought as first that she'll join because she just wanted to see Asemu. 3. Zeheart, though he said that Asemu doesn't have what it takes to be a soldier because he doesn't want to face Asemu in the battlefield, that same question can also be asked at him as well. Can he shoot the Gundam knowing that its pilot is Asemu? What I, somewhat, disliked: 1. Adele's performance. It's technologically updated, yet, those units doesn't have an x-rounder pilot while Zedas-R was an updated Zedas and has an x-rounder pilot that's position is high that he can command a team.

This. I understand the writer wanting to create a situation to bring up the topic of "Asemu doubting Zeheart" device, before the actual revelation. But still its pretty ridiculous to see it happen. This reminds of the time when the writer/director/who-ever wanted to make Grodek cool in his battle against the EFF commander but ended up failing pretty hard.

Asem may or may not be lying when he told the rest of the triangle his reasons on going to a military school, but the rescue scene earlier did highlight his intent to be a "saviour".

Love the pacing in Asemu's arc. Cut out the uninteresting stuff and focus on key events.
Animation wise, still could do a bit with quality control. The character head looks sometimes real awkward, when the camera is zoomed out. |

That battle between Zedas R and AGE-1 was once again excellent... Though the grunts do leave something to be desired.
I guess this is the Gundam Seed arc of the show... Though I doubt Zeheart will be switching sides like Athrun does anytime soon. I think the scene with Abus is intended to distinguish him from Flit... Asemu helps everyone, even his enemies (like Abus was), whereas Flit wants all Vagan dead... I think this is foreshadowing a conflict between them later this arc, especially with Zeheart being his friend.

Good episode, but time skip seems to be too far, especially for next episode. I thought there was going to be a development of how AGE-2 would be developed (like AGE-1 becoming damaged a lot so there had to be an upgrade made for it), but AGE-2 Just going to come out of the blue? kind of fail somewhat :s

They certainly are moving time along pretty fast. Wouldn't have minded if they took an episode just to help build up the relationship between the three even more. Still they did a good enough job of letting us know how much time the trio has spent together. I also like how Asemu and Romary pretty much found out at the same time about Zeheart. The conflicted relationship now gives Asemu more reasons to go and Romary a path to follow. It's not just about following Asemu. Neither can just let things end like this and have to go and find Zeheart again.
Seems both Asemu and Zeheart will need some upgrades. Zeheart's unit couldn't keep up with his reaction time. AGE-1 actually put up a good fight here which at least gives reasons for the Vagans to want it. The unit is already strong and has the ability to constantly improve. I like questioning Asemu's reasons for going out to fight. Certainly a good point how Asemu just seems to do what his father wants and walk the path he laid out. Zeheart was right in that it's not like there aren't a ton of ways to help people that don't involve going out to fight. I'd expect a major point will be Asemu making a decision contrary to his father and walking his own path. Quote:
