You should try Spiral:Suiri no Kizuna. There's no gambling, but plenty of quick wit and strategy.

Try Lost+Brain. It's like Death Note but instead of of a notebook that kills it deals more with hypnotism and brain control.

The protagonist and very cunning, intelligent, and devious. I totally recommend it.

Try Daikichi's Salesmanship. The title alone tells you that there are plenty strategies for selling stuffs but this manga is fun.

^i've watched spiral back in 07 or 08, and i have mixed recollections about it. I liked the quick wittedness but i didn't like where the overall plot was going. Is the manga better than the anime?
i'll try the other 2 thanks for your recommendations

The anime is not as good as the manga, due to the fact that the manga was still running when the anime was aired. The anime version adapted the first 6 volumes, and there are 15 volumes in total. The manga is definitely way better than the anime.
