All Out! [anticipation]

Sports manga, "All Out!" is getting a TV anime adaptation.

Premise/Plot Summary:
Quote:
Gion Kenji is short and perpetually pissed off about it. Iwashimizu Sumiaki is tall but timid. Although it's bullies that bring this unlikely pair together on the first day of high school, it's the rugby club that will make them friends.
The November issue of Kodansha's Morning Two magazine is announcing on September 22 that a television anime adaptation of Shiori Amase's rugby manga ALL OUT!! has been green-lit for next year.

ANN confirms now. I forgot about the date. It's apparently 2016.

Well, now we know what's going to take over Comiket next year.

Anyway, I remember reading a few chapters of this way back, and it was nice, so I'll take a look.

ANN failed to disclose their source, which is the Morning Two webpage, you can get that preview by manually getting the address. Confirmed my ass.

The source manga's listed as seinen-genre, so I'm wondering if the character interactions will be more complex compared to a shounen.

Amase Shiori's also penning another seinen title, 大江戸雪シマキ(Ooedo Yuki Shimaki/ Great Edo('s) Yuki Shimaki), featuring samurai in Edo-era Japan.

Sadly, neither title has received a full translation yet.

Demographics, not genre. Also this doesn't have to anything to do with character interactions complexity.

Yep. Just because something is "seinen" doesn't mean that it's automatically more complex or mature, it just means that it's being serialized in a seinen magazine; and the only thing that the "seinen" label on a mag really means is that since it targets an adult audience there's a wider selection of topics/settings, and fewer restrictions in place, so the mangaka enjoy more freedom. It doesn't necessarily mean that the work is somehow more complex.

I see. What sort of restrictions would a non-seinen mangaka usually face, other than sex/violence? Because I recall some shounen manga I read whose fanservice levels were on par with some seinen-labeled titles I read. (I forget the titles though).

basically what makes a work be good is the mangaka, and not if is shounen or seinen.

99% of Americans just heard the teacher's voice on a Peanuts TV special when they read that.

You think you've got problems. I read the title "All Out" and came here expecting it to be an anime about Cricket!

Waah someone give Hosoya Yoshimasa a non-gruff character already! It's not that he's bad at those, far from it, but oh, that beautiful voice!

If you mean No.6, that's exactly the kind of role he needs more of!

I'm kind of hoping he doesn't use his gruff voice. Not that gruff couldn't work. I just never pictured Sekizan with a gruff voice. More, slightly deep but still smooth.
