Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudou series is getting a TV anime adaptation.

Synopsis

Yukito's parents are the leaders of a cult. After he gets sacrificed, he gets reincarnated into another world where religion doesn't exist and porn books are akin to a child's doodles. He finds that it's also a world where your life and death is decided by the country. While obstructing his friend's execution, both of them lose their lives. Just at that moment, the god of his religion comes to their world and revives them.

The anime synopsis is nearly foreign to me, since I read the manga before pandemic. The focus is more about power of faith in isekai. In general, the outcome of anime really depends on who make it. The ending production could be good or bad. The production budget may hurt anime quality, as it happened to last season's anime and upcoming anime.

So Yukito's life kind of sucked. Born into a strict religious sect to his heavily macho and zealot father voiced by Show Hayami, he had to undergo crazy rituals, girls being driven away from him, and the lack of time to really enjoy anything about life. It got to a point where he couldn't even enjoy watching porn! And unsurprisingly it all culminated with his family's sect basically sacrificing him to their God. Yeah, I get why he'd be done with religion by this point .

(So what are they going to do when they realize Yukito isn't coming back up? Or is the culmination of the series him going back and rising from the water with Mitama at the exact point he left ?)

Well, this Isekai experience is definitely looking up when you have Kana Hanazawa already feeling up your dick! Very thoroughly, I might add! Not to mention a drunk Sumire Uesaka pouring booze over some guys while she proudly stands above them! I like the ladies in this show so far .

Megumi Ogata is in this!? Wow .

I know it's not the Isekai experience Yukito was expecting, and I certainly wasn't expecting those obviously computer-generated monsters, but at least he gets into it and finds enjoyment in his new life and the people he's getting to know .

Alural is surprisingly enthusiastic about buying a smut book along with Roy! And she applied those lessons well with Yukito .

But in a world without God or Religion is a society that reveres death and basically makes suicide a communal experience. And for anyone who doesn't want to die are treated like deviants whom the empire is free to kill at any moment. And then it becomes Alural and Silural's turns .

Oh hey, Junichi Suwabe as Bertrand! He wasn't on-screen for long, but he made quite an impact. Still pretty satisfying watching him get consumed by Mitama though .

When he needed God the most, Yukito finally prays to Mitama and summons her...and she's a very affection and enthusiastic God voiced by Akari Kito, who seems as OP as you would expect from a God and utterly devoted to Yukito in a playful way. I think Alural has competition !

Mitama obviously revived Yukito and Alural, but is there a chance she saved Silural too ?

This series is kinda nuts so far... but if an isekai has Junya Enoki as the MC its probably a guaranteed 4/10 poor guy only gets to take out Matsuoka's trash. The voice cast is pretty stacked otherwise -- HanaKana, Akarin, Megumi Ogata, Uesaka Sumire, with a bunch more yet to be introduced.

Since this is actually a manga even though it is parodying isekais because haha and there isn't exactly much to watch today, I'll probably continue for now, but it was an iffy episode
The pacing was extremely fast, and the CG was hideous and there seems to be scenes that were reused, and the jokes were generally not funny if not cringey. Not sure where it plans to go, but I don't really care too much right now. Like I said, it was a bit too fast to get to that point.

Honestly I think that was a pretty strong start. It's all kinds of crazy, but in a fun way. In terms of main characters that die minutes into their show...I really like Yukito. The flashbacks worked pretty well to establish why his mindset is the way it is and how brutal things have been for him. Growing up with a creepy sect of bodybuilders definitely wore him out to the point that he was dead before getting put through any rituals.

The voice cast is definitely stacked! Plus can't go wrong for a character introduction like what they did with Alural . Definitely a way to make a first impression. While her last "visit" before the end of the episode was pretty comical, it does make sense. Knew her last day was upon her and she wanted to spend that time with Yukito.

They definitely didn't hold a lot back here. Religious sacrifice, the characters drinking up a storm in the bar, lot of blood, monster attacks (the cgi was weird but kind of worked), a loli deity doing...things to the people that harmed her precious Yukito. Very busy .

Pretty fun first episode. Liked the way they altered the usual isekai trope; no "OP/cheat" skill s*** or whatever(at least for now). Animation was solid, except the CGI monsters, which were s***. Action bits at the end were actually more decent than I expected it to be. All the characters were pretty fun. I'm not sure how good it'll be now that loli goddess has appeared, but this first ep left me with more than enough curiosity about the world and its characters to keep watching.

Couple of minor things that stood out:
-Yukito dropping like an actual person "should" drop when Beltrand slashed him
-Yukito actually knowing how to fight being shown during the momentary flashbacks when he was drowning, so him tossing soldiers around doesn't feel like bs or plot armor
-When Yukito picked up the rabbit(edit: monster; dunno why thought it was a rabbit), then Al and Roy popping up in the middle of the forest(with creepy church music, lol), they looked super suspicious, giving a "there's more to this than it seems" sort of feeling... only for them to turn it into a joke later on
-The entrance scene of Mitama looked pretty cool.
-Kinda surprised a Suwabe voiced char to get axed in the first scene he appears in, unless he not really dead.
-Some scenes have some pretty great musical direction. The Mitama entrance theme, and the one where Yukito picks up the monster in the forest; the one after he meets Alural... all really great themes. Really gives it that fantasy world feeling =03.

Only thing I hope is that "death" isn't played for cheap laughs or whatever. We'll see.

Oh my god, that's just amazing . Of course this would both have a spinoff and for it to have that kind of plot .

When you have a fun concept then might as well go all out with it.

This is funny in light of the One-Hit Kill Sister anime coming out this season .

I love this show, my favorite of the season so far. I like the characters and the quirky humor, hits the right spot for me hehe. Looking forward to seeing what they do with it.

The whole die when it's your time to die thing popped the Star Trek episode "Half a Life" into my head about a planet with the same system. Though at least the Kaelon disposed of their elderly in a more humane manner than stabbing them, lol

It actually got positive reception here huh. Didn't see that comming. Personally didn't find jokes funny, drama suspensful, death sad nor subversion landing To point that I didn't even thing as CGI was any lower point then rest of episode.

Other than the annoying CG, color me intrigued. Feels to me this show is bringing something new and refreshing to the isekai genre. The start and the setting feels distinctively different, and from the introductory lore, it brings up a lot of questions as to what the worldview is actually like. Also, my eyes did widen slightly when I hear the voice of another "Yukito" calling the protag Yukito
