By the mangaka of Sakamoto desu ga?, if folks are unaware. I’ve heard generally positive things about this one.

Unfortunately, Harta Magazine has announced that the mangaka, Sano Nami, passed away on Aug 5th.

Apparently she'd been diagnosed with a rapidly-progressing cancer 1 month ago. She was only 36 years old.

Quote:
The editors of Harta shared an excerpt from Sano's last letter, which reads: "This ended up being a fun life. I am now going to a more free world. Goodbye."

This is really sad news. She was my age. RIP, I really like Sakamoto and I'm looking forward to this one.

Isn't that twice in a year that a mangaka dies the season before their anime adaptation airs? The other being Tokyo Mew Mew.

Her last letter is more of a "Hasta la vista" feel, since its a pretty frank アバヨ instead of something like さようなら

Sakamoto was really fun to watch, so really unfortunate

Reminds me of Märchen Mädchen, whose author died before its anime. In a grim way, he dodged that bullet though...

Yeah, while this seemed to be going for the whole 'creepy twins' trope, what made it was how deliciously daft it was. The tricks they used to pass themselves off as just one kid were ludicrous as the camera showed what was actually happening.
Definitely got my attention.

It reminds me of a more innocent Junji Ito vibe.

I think she was going for kind of an affectionate Ito spoof vibe, but in reality I don't think the boys are up to anything really sinister (and that's basically the joke).

Wondering how they get out of situations seem to be a recurring thing, like when one of them was a counterweight in the tree scene.

Every chapter I have mixed feelings, I want to drop it because it's too weird but then there are some hilarious moments and I just keep watching.

From the speed the anime is going, I guess they are trying to finish the anime in 1-cour and not just stop half-way and leave it in limbo forever
Good thing

One nice thing I've noticed about this anime is that it really puts focus and animation effort in the eyes
