.... so I wasn't imagining it when I saw this title in this section of the board.
Considering how many guts I've busted and sides I've lost over the manga, I look forward to see this adaptation

Oh, I remember I've read this before, though only a couple of chapters.
Didn't expect to get anime adaptation though. Also I heard the cast for Drama CD are Hanazawa Kana, Yoshimasa Hosoya, Sakurai Takahiro, Hiroshi Kamiya, and Tatsuhisa Suzuki. Seems like a good lineup (and perfect for pairing, lol). |

Augh... I've nothing against Kobayashi Yuu but this voice and this delivery are just so completely off. It's like she thinks she's voicing a cutesy moe-moe-kyun type character. I really hope she'll adjust her acting for recording in the actual show (sound director, do your job!). Hanazawa's take on the character was much better...
Also, Ono Yuuki's really doing the Male Lead Voice here... I really hope the show won't single him out as the focus love interest, sidelining the others. Go Asuma, go! (Even though Igarashi is most likely to be the eventual "winner", meh.) As for Asuma, I loved the Sakurai version for that added softness and depth, but Shimazaki will do fine. |

Honestly when this was first announced, I really thought this would be a NTV series, TBS is kinda iffy. And they gave this to brains base, a studio going through really tough times with best talent leaving.
The director hasn't done much significant work as a director too, so keeping moderate expectations. |

I think if the creative staff gets what makes the manga funny and build from that, instead of mocking BL fans or playing the story as a serious romance (and if Kobayashi uses a better voice that actually fits Kae) it's going to be fine.
(This is why I said this show should have gotten the Bones/Enokido/Igarashi treatment instead of the completely uninspired Bungou Stray Dogs... Given the incredibly good job they did with Ouran Host Club, to the point where the anime is pretty much better than the manga, this should be right up their street.) |
